MyThaiCity Stay Check
For hotels, resorts and villas in Thailand: invite us for a test stay. We check rooms, cleanliness and service by a fixed checklist – and you decide whether we publish the result.
The Stay Check in short
Fixed checklist
Eleven areas, each rated from 1 to 5 with photos and notes.
Talk on site
We go through the results with your manager before we leave.
You decide
A report is only published with your consent – and always labelled.
How it works
Seven steps from your request to a published report.
Request
You send the form below. We reply and suggest dates.
Agreement
We confirm in writing: dates, number of nights, the checklist, how a report is labelled and that you decide about publication.
Stay
A member of the MyThaiCity team stays one or two nights – as a normal guest, without special treatment where possible.
Check
We go through the checklist with photos and notes.
Talk
Before leaving, we go through the results with the manager: strengths and points to improve.
Your decision
You decide whether we publish a report. If not, the results stay between us.
Report
If you agree, we publish the report in our travel guide and link it from your listing – clearly labelled.
What we check
The same checklist for every property. Each area is rated from 1 to 5. We do not award stars – those belong to the official hotel classification.
| Area | What we look at |
|---|---|
| Arrival | Getting there, signs, check-in (waiting time, friendliness, languages), information about the house |
| Room | Cleanliness (floor, bathroom, bed linen, corners), bed, air conditioning, noise, light, sockets, safe, condition of furniture |
| Bathroom | Cleanliness, water pressure and hot water, ventilation, towels, toiletries |
| Internet | Wi-Fi speed in the room and in the lobby – measured, with the value |
| Food | Breakfast (choice, freshness, hygiene), restaurant and bar if there is one |
| Facilities | Pool, gym, spa, beach access – cleanliness and condition |
| Staff | Friendliness, helpfulness, English, response to a request |
| Safety | Visible escape routes and emergency exits, fire extinguishers, room lock, lighting |
| Location | Surroundings, noise, distance to beach, town and transport |
| Accessibility | Lift, steps, rooms for guests with reduced mobility – we note what is there |
| Value for money | Publicly offered price compared with the stay (price with date and source) |
Honest and clearly labelled
Guests trust a report only if it is honest. That is why every published Stay Check follows three rules:
- The checklist is public – on this page.
- A report may name points to improve. You can say no to publication, but you cannot rewrite it.
- Every report says: “Invited test – accommodation and meals provided by the property.”
What you provide
Accommodation and meals for the tester during the stay. All other terms are agreed in writing before the visit.
Hotels, resorts, villas, guesthouses and serviced apartments in the thirteen regions on MyThaiCity.
Request a Stay Check
We reply with possible dates. Sending the form does not commit you to anything.
